Mark Your Calendars for Saturday, 10/3 @ 6:00 pm
The schedule for the KVIE on-air art auction has been published. I’m thrilled to learn that my piece, “socially distant”, will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on Saturday evening at 6 pm (break 19)… PRIME TIME! You can visit the auction home page to see all of the great works and when they will be selling live on air over the course of the weekend.
Unfortunately COVID has slightly affected this year’s event; I was REALLY looking forward to the preview party where artists, gallery owners, buyers, and art enthusiasts alike all gather to see this years’ full catalog in person. Instead, the works will be on display in the KVIE station lobby between the hours of 9-5 M-F now through September. I still plan to make a visit, but it would have been an awesome experience to have everyone together to discuss and share. Especially since my Mom is also going to be featured with a painting of her own and we could have schmoozed the Sac art scene together for a night (maybe next year, Mom ♥)… her painting, titled “Monet’s Garden”, will be selling during break 36 on Sunday afternoon.
If you are interested in a piece of art from this year’s show you can pre-bid online… just view the collection and you will see the pre-bid option under each item. There really are some terrific works and the prices are a steal… all for a great cause supporting local public television. But don’t forget to watch with your phone ready lest you might be outbid!
I’ll probably be celebrating at home that evening with a bottle of wine and some close friends watching the event live… I’m so excited and anxious to hear them critique my first cubism painting, “socially distant”!
